Can I Refill The Same Cartridges From Now On?
No. Depending upon the cartridge type and usage you can normally refill them three to ten
times before replacing it. The key is to keep it from drying out. Refilling before the cartridge
runs out will yield the longest cartridge life.
How Do I Know When It Is Time For A New Cartridge?
After a time you will experience printing problems whether using a new or refilled cartridge.
Normally running a printhead cleaning cycle per the instruction manual will correct the problem.
If not, you may have an old dried out sponge in your cartridge. Try to saturate the sponge as much as possible to eliminate air pockets. Sometimes old sponges will just refuse to carry the ink no matter how full they are. In that case, it's time for a new one!
If you have a cartridge with a built-in printhead try soaking the printhead in a shallow pan of hot water for 5 or 10 minutes. This will loosen any old ink on the printhead.
Can I Use Any Ink In My Printer?
No! Each printer engine requires a specific ink formulation. Some printers and fax machines
use the same printer engines (i.e. Canon 600-610-620/Apple Stylewriter Pro etc.) Not using the proper
ink can damage your printer.
